Both had a strong respect for Native American culture and felt a deeper connection than just coach and player. This innovative approach from Jackson, and the mere willingness and courage to allow Rodman to walk away for a personal vacation at such a crucial time, speak to a deep-rooted and unexpected relationship. He had a strong kinship with Bulls' coach Phil Jackson, an element which this project is expected to focus on. Among other things, Rodman was known as the life of the party, and had a short romantic relationship with Madonna in 1994.Īll comedy aside, it sounds as if the team behind this project really understands the basketball champion, who was much more than just a wild one. While the series primarily focuses on NBA great Michael Jordan, Rodman gets a good deal of the spotlight in the series' third episode, which caps off with him riding a motorcycle in the Vegas streets instead of running through the paint with teammates Jordan and Scottie Pippen. The producers' comments perfectly capture Rodman, whose personality can truly be gauged for unfamiliar viewers through the docuseries The Last Dance. No American should be fooled into thinking she doesnt deserve our full support. The brief interview with the psychiatrist was surprisingly entertaining. The Madonna story was plausible and genuine. Oklahoma can be rough for minorities, and I believe that he did befriend a family and spend a lot of time at the family ranch. But, there were a few intriguing story lines. They also seemed to point out that he approved this version of the story. The intermissions where Dennis explains his feelings about the situations often involve mirrors maybe they are supposed to be cool, but I found them to be annoying. His black mom in Dallas and white mom in Durant appear to be reading the lines from the cue cards. Both of his mothers take the word over-acting to new levels. The jerseys look like they came straight from the screen printers, and the basketball clips shows Rodman scoring like Jordan.
The re-creations of the NBA games, uniforms, and stadiums are hilarious. I'll point out the highlights of it's awfulness.
I can't explain the number of ways in which it stinks.
